Mining Rigs:

Below are our most frequently asked questions regarding cryptocurrency mining rigs. If you have any further questions please email contact@voltatech.co.nz or call 0274702576

Can I change what coin I am mining?

Yes! There are many different coins you can mine with GPU rigs. Ethereum is the most profitable as of now which is what our rigs are set up to run, but we are more than happy to change this to another coin on request. Some current popular options are RVN, ERGO, ETC. Once the rig is built, you are not locked into any one coin, you can change it to whatever you like at any time.

How noisy is the rig?

The rig is almost silent, only a slight hum if you put your ear to it. These newer are cards are very good at running cool, as well as quiet. This is great, you can run it in the lounge to warm up the room, or for a great talking point!

Do I need a fast internet connection?

No! Just a standard plan with Ethernet is completely fine. You can definitely get away with using wifi, but ethernet is definitely recommended to get as low stale or invalid shares as possible.

Do you offer support?

Yes! We'll give you all the support you need to get your rig up and mining to your wallet. Other service later down the track can be discussed on an hourly rate or per-call basis.

How do I convert what I have mined to NZD?

Once the miner has paid out to your wallet (More MHS = Faster Payout) you can decide whether to hold the coin, convert it to another coin, or withdraw it to your bank account. We use www.easycrypto.ai to do so.

How does this compare to an ASIC miner?

ASIC miners are awesome! But they have a few drawbacks which GPU mining tops.

- They are very loud, so chances are you won't be able to run this at home without keeping the family up!

- They are extremely power-hungry and use a lot more power than a GPU mining rig

- They can only mine one currency, no switching and swapping between coins unlike GPU mining rigs where you can mine whatever currency you desire.
